VIETNAM VISA EXEMPTION 2025 - 2026

As 2025, Vietnam is maintaining a range of visa exemption policies for foreign nationals to promote travel and tourism. Today, Asian Moonlight Travel – one of the top travel agencies in Vietnam will give you an overview of the current regulations regarding visa exemptions.

  1. Eligible Countries: Citizens from several countries can enter Vietnam without a visa for short stays. As of 2024, countries like Japan, South Korea, and most ASEAN members enjoy visa-free access for periods ranging from 14 to 90 days, depending on their nationality. Besides, Phu Quoc island is the only place in Vietnam where foreigners from countries can come to stay/travel during 30 days without Visa.
  2. Duration of Stay: The length of visa exemption varies:
    • 14 Days: Myanmar & Brunei
    • 21 Days: Philippines
    • 30 Days: Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Kygyzstan, Kazakhstan, Belarus (from 30 Jan 2025).
    • 45 Days: UK, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, France, Belarus, Italy, Spain, Germany, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Poland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Croatia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland (from 15 Aug 2025 until 14 Aug 2028 base on 229/NQ-CP)
    • 90 Days: Chile & Panama
  3. Purpose of Visit: Visa exemptions typically apply for tourism, family visits, and business meetings. Travelers intending to work or study may need to obtain a visa in advance.
  4. Extensions: Visitors who wish to stay longer than the allowed period may apply for an extension through local immigration offices, though this is subject to approval and specific conditions.

You are not in Visa exemption list, How should you do to travel to Vietnam?

Vietnam has been actively revising its visa policies to attract more international visitors. In case you are not in Visa exemption list, you can:

  1. Apply Evisa via official government website: https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/en_US/trang-chu-ttdt
  2. Ask for help from local agents: they can give you a Visa approval letter and then you can get Visa stamp upon arrival in Vietnam.

Important Notes
