The Laos Ministry of Public Security has just announced the implementation of a visa exemption policy, extending visa validity for citizens of multiple countries from 1^st July until the end of year 2024. This policy aims to draw international visitors and unleash tourism potential under the "Visit Laos 2024" program.

According to it, Chinese tourists travelling in groups organized by agencies that have officially registered and licenced by the Lao Ministry of Tourism can get 15 days exemption visa.

Citizens of Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Spain, and Greece are granted a visa exemption for their initial 15-day visit to Laos.

The Laos government has extended the duration of multiple-entry visas from 30 days to 60 days for nationals of Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.

Tourists from the mentioned countries are not required to use travel agency services; they can apply for a multiple-entry tourist visa (T-B3) for entry and exit at Lao embassies or consulates abroad, issued by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

With tourism as a top priority for socio-economic growth, Laos has designated 2024 as the Visit Laos Year. Under the slogan "Laos - Paradise of Culture, Nature, and History," the program aims to promote tourism and attract international tourists to visit the "Land of a Million Elephants."
