Kim Lien pagoda is situated on the promontory of Nghi Tam village, by West lake – Tay Ho district, Hanoi city, Vietnam. The pagoda opposites to the International Hanoi Westlake resort, just 1 minute - walking to reach the peaceful pagoda.

According to the legend, where the pagoda now used to be Tu Hoa palace since Ly dynasty. The Princess Tu Hoa – a daughter of King Ly Than Tong – brought palace maids to here for mulberry planting and silkworm raising. Then, the Tam Tang farm was founded. This farm was renamed as Nghi Tam village. Kim Lien pagoda was built in the 17^th century. According to the stelae in the pagoda, it was constructed in 1631, under the name of Dai Bi pagoda. In 1771, Trinh Sam lord moved Bao Lam pagoda which had been at the Western part of Thang Long imperial capital to here. After repairing, He changed the pagoda’s name to “Kim Lien” .
