Upon arrival at Halong Port, our Asian Moonlight Trave’s team will pick you up from the harbor where the ship docks then travel to Hanoi city- the capital of Vietnam.
Upon arrival in Hanoi city, we visit we visit the outside of the Presidential Palace and Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum. Continue to the special architecture 11th century One Pillar Pagoda which was rebuilt after being destroyed by the French in 1954.
Then, we transfer to the center of Hanoi to enjoy 35 minute cyclo tour through Old Quarter area. Then, we wander through the narrow alleyways passing colourful stalls piled high with a vast array of flowers, fresh fruits, vegetables, dried foods, sweets and temple offerings... If you’re brave, venture to the exotic section to see alive frogs, turtles, silkworms, wriggling eels and many other strangle animals and foods to Westerners. The wholesale market is not just a food market, but also other stuff like herbal medicine, clothes, cosmetics, electronics…and if you want to buy somethings, our companion will teach you how to bargain prices.
Our tour guide will take you to popular street food stalls where you can try some of the city’s signature dishes such as : Phở - Rice noodle soup ; Nem rán and bánh Gối - Deep-fried spring rolls and pillow cakes, Nộm đu đủ với bò khô – Green papaya salad with dried beef, Hoa quả dầm - Mixed fresh fruits with milk ; Cà phê trứng - Egg coffee ; Bia hơi – Light draught beer… (the menu can be fixed base on your diet/vegetarian requirement). If time permits, you can stop at Dong Xuan market – one of the largest wholesale markets in Hanoi city for shopping.
